When I first pulled up to the cute little red cabin nestled in a cozy corner on ten mile lake I immediately felt the rush of nostalgia from my childhood summers spent at my grandparents’ cabin on lake le homme dieu in Alexandria, MN. When Johnna first contacted me to photograph her and Adam’s engagement photos she mentioned the importance of incorporating their cabin in Hackensack. Growing up, Adam spent most of his summers and weekends up north at his families cabin. He talked about how it’s the one place where he feels most at home and he couldn’t envision getting married anywhere else other than the north woods of Minnesota.
Johnna and Adam started the engagement shoot out with coffee and cuddling by the fireplace while reminiscing about their first date and favorite trips around the world together. One of my favorite stories was hearing how Adam proposed to Johnna in Iceland.
We then ventured out to the lake and walked along the dock. And ended the session with a walk in the woods. It was the quintessential fall engagement session in northern Minnesota.Read More
Cherise & Brett’s NP Event Space wedding.
Famiglia. It's the word tattooed on Cherise's left wrist and it's the word I think of most when reflecting back to Cherise and Brett's wedding day. I first met Cherise when she and her mom welcomed me into their family's home for coffee, to discuss the details of Cherise and Brett's wedding day. Cherise is the middle child of 12 siblings, each one sharing a special role in Cherise and Brett's day.
The NP Event Space is an 1800's warehouse made modern. It's edgy and authentic. One of the things I loved most about this wedding was the incredible amount of DIY and wholesomeness that went into creating this cool, industrial chic wedding. The incredible greenery chandelier hanging over the head table was hand made by family and friends. Cherise's stylish cascading bouquet was arranged by a small town floral shop. The home made cookies baked by each of Brett and Cherise's mothers and grandmothers was the sweetest dessert table I've ever seen (pun not intended). Needless to say, this wedding was nothing short of amazing. I'm ever so lucky to have had the opportunity to document it.Read More

“Our relationship is one that keeps getting better and better with time. Things are really easy with us, he's my best friend”, Bekah wrote to me, when describing her relationship with Brett. I instantly knew I wanted to photograph these two. Throughout the months of swapping emails back and forth Bekah mentioned her love for craft beer. So, naturally we met up at one of my favorite local Breweries, Big Axe in Nisswa, before heading out to Fritz Loven Park. Bekah and Brett are so silly and just down right fun together. They had me laughing, with them, throughout their entire engagement session.Read More
From the rainy ceremony to the beautiful boat house reception everything about Alyssa and Dan’s September wedding at the Quarterdeck on Gull Lake was absolutely lovely. Their adorable french bulldogs, June and Cash, served as maid of honor and best man. The stunning dahlia bouquets were arranged by Bloom Designs. Dani from Sweet Life Bakery exceeded all expectations once again. Alyssa and Dan’s triple layer wedding cake with the watercolor frosting effect and gold flecks looked like a piece of art. It literally had guests stopping in their tracks and wondering if it was real. The night just kept getting better and better. Mini donut bar from Prairie Bay. Sparkler exit. Epic dance party.Read More
I don’t even know how to begin describing Karah & Blake’s epic wedding day at Creekside Farm. I hate the word perfect, but when I think back to their barn wedding it seems to be the first word that comes to mind.Read More

The location Alanna and Cody chose for their engagement session was certainly beautiful but this pretty spot alongside the Rum River had much more meaning. It was a place for firsts- their first date, first kiss, first "I love you".Read More

My sweet friends were married this past September and I was lucky to have been able to document it.
This wedding was the very best kind. It was simple and wholesome and 100% DIY. It was exactly how Ashley described to me how she envisioned her wedding day, years ago. There was no over the top production. Just close family and friends celebrating Mitch & Ashley’s love with good food and great beer.

Every time I travel to Duluth I’m in awe. The mysterious lake Superior. The picturesque back drop of mountainous towering pines. The fog. Each trip up the north shore feels as though I’m experiencing it for the first time. It empowers me with a burst of inspiration and settles my wanderlust heart.
When Haley contacted me for engagement photos in Duluth I was ecstatic, to say the least. We started the evening with beers at Canal Park Brewery, and wandered the rocky lake Superior shoreline in Canal Park with dreamy golden sunlight beaming on our faces. We then made our way to the sand dune beach of Park Point just in time for the pink hued twilight and ended the session with the night fading into dusk. It truly was a perfect Minnesota summer night.
Haley and Levi, I’m incredibly grateful for you trusting in me to document these special memories and moments. Looking forward to creating more imagery of your sweet love next August at your Larson Barn wedding.Read More
Martha & Peder. These two hold a special place in my heart. We met last March over coffee prior to venturing out into the crisp Minnesota spring air for their engagement session at the Northland Arboretum. I immediately fell in love with their calming nature. I feel at peace while documenting these two. Which is somewhat ironic as I would be lying if I said wasn’t nervous when Martha mentioned their pitpull, Raiden, would be joining during their engagement photos. I now fully pledge against any bias towards pitbulls and I may have been slightly sad Raiden wasn’t able to join us at their wedding. Martha and Peder, you have an insurmountable love and I’m forever honored to have documented it.Read More
